ICM

ICM gathers photographs made through intentional camera movement, long exposure, walking, reflected light and shifting perception.

  • A white-gold burst of light explodes through a dark urban field, with red and white trails and a gridded building-like structure at right.
    Heart of Empire
  • Black-and-white blurred photograph of a large building under construction, with exposed floors, columns and diagonal bracing forming a dense charcoal-grey framework against a pale sky.
    Constructed Space (Charcoal Grey)

  • Abstract colour street photograph of a dark tree trunk and blue-green canopy against a blurred turquoise and pale yellow background, with deep blue-black ground and faint road markings below.
Shade Tree II (Turquoise & Yellow Ochre)

  • Black-and-white image with a stormy sky, a bright banded structure above, and a dark foreground of rail track, sleepers and repeated hand-drawn markings.

  • Square abstract colour photograph of a bright blue Ōtāhuhu Station sign repeated and partly obscured by camera movement. Pale blue-grey light fills the upper frame while dark forms gather below, crossed by pink, orange and white traces.

Galleries

Black-and-white abstract urban landscape with a blurred treeline above, a heavy dark mass at right, and a band of looping white light trails streaming across the middle ground.

Sun Glints

Abstract colour street photograph with a vivid chrome-yellow band sweeping from the foreground towards the centre. Blurred road lines, repeated fragments of “NOT IN SERVICE”, dark buildings and a yellow-orange façade stretch through the city scene.

The Painted City

Blurred image of a large green tree against a pale blue sky, with golden light around either side, looping yellow light traces near the middle, and a dark green-black foreground below.

Atmospherics & Impressions

Abstract blurred photograph of orange and yellow flowers against dark green foliage, with pale blue and pink areas near the top and radiating motion softening the blooms into glowing colour.

The Flower Garden

An abstract photograph with a large pale blue and lavender wave-like form sweeping across the frame, bordered by bright fractured light trails and softer mauve and violet tones.

Compression Landscapes

Blurred black-and-white scene with dark palm-like trees at right, pale misty light at left, and scattered bright specks across a dark foreground.

These Dark Days

Vertical black-and-white photograph centred on a large tree trunk, boughs and canopy. Circular camera movement transforms background light into repeated pale loops and rounded forms surrounding the broad, dark central structure.
